About University of Illinois Extension
University of Illinois Extension is the flagship outreach effort of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, offering educational programs to residents of all of Illinois’ 102 counties — and far beyond. Extension provides practical education you can trust to help people, businesses, and communities solve problems, develop skills, and build a better future. U of I Extension offers educational programs in five broad areas:
- Energy and environmental stewardship
- Food safety and security
- Economic development and workforce preparedness
- Family health, financial security, and wellness
- Youth development
U of I Extension works to translate information into actionable, useful insights designed to improve the lives of Illinois residents. The Nutrition and Wellness Team addresses a wide range of health and wellness topics for all ages, but this new website provides a condensed set of guidelines that are intended to provide parents with the assurance that they are making smart decisions based on tested techniques.
U of I Extension is based in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) and works with all colleges and units of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
About Feeding My Baby from Cradle to Table
A new baby doesn’t come with a manual on how to care for him or her, but rather it is up to the parents to figure out. U of I Extension understands the worries and questions that come with parenting, and that’s why we wanted to create a website that will help put you at ease.
Feeding My Baby is designed to help you make informed decisions as your baby transitions from cradle to table. The content is research-based and encourages key behaviors emphasized by the USDA WIC Works Resource System.
